In-Kind Donations Made Easy: Doorstep Pickup

Most of us have items ready to donate: clothes, shoes, curtains, and the intention is there, but the obstacle is the difficulty of reaching a donation box; from searching for a nearby box and carrying bags to finding a parking spot, only to find it full or somewhere else, postponing the donation for a month. Therefore, the "AONK" app was built around this problem: when donations become easier, people actually donate, in less than a minute and without leaving home.

Open the app

Enter your name and phone number in a few seconds.

That's it. A member of the team will come directly to your door. No need to carry anything or move around. The bag that's been sitting in the corner for three months could reach those who need it before the end of the week.

If someone else could reasonably use it, it belongs in a donation rather than in the bin. A large portion of what gets thrown away in Oman every year consists of items that are still perfectly functional. When those items are collected and passed on instead of discarded, they stay in circulation and out of landfill. It is a small shift in one household, but it adds up quickly when enough families start making it a habit.

Our Partners in the Sultanate of Oman

AONK's achievements

We operate in all governorates and states of the Sultanate, and we have established partnerships with more than 85 charitable organizations, represented by the Omani Mothers Association, volunteer groups, and social security funds.

Your donation has a greater impact than you can imagine... an act of charity between you and God.

And whatever you spend, He will replace it; and He is the best of providers..

Sadaqah is one of the most direct acts available to anyone, regardless of wealth or circumstance. You do not need to give money. You need only what you already have sitting unused at home: a bag of clothes, a pair of shoes, and a set of pots that still work. The understanding in Islam is clear that what is given sincerely is never truly lost. It returns in ways you can measure and in ways you cannot.

Aonk removes everything that usually stands between that intention and the follow-through. No logistics to figure out, no trip to plan. You give from your front door, and the rest is handled.

Oman's charitable society

Generosity is not a new idea in Oman. It is woven into the way communities here have always worked: neighbors looking after neighbors, no one left to manage hardship alone. What changes over time is the mechanism, not the value.

When you donate a bag of clothes or a set of household items through Aonk, you are not doing something foreign. You are continuing something that belongs to this place. The families receiving those donations are part of the same community you grew up in.

Each item you donate is a real improvement in someone's daily life, and it costs the donor nothing beyond one minute on the phone. That exchange, practical and quiet, is how a stronger society gets built.

Contributing to Oman Vision 2040

2040
vision

Oman produces more than 2.6 million tons of waste annually, a significant portion of which consists of things that are still usable: clothes that still have some life left, household appliances that work efficiently, and toys and books that have simply been outgrown by their owners.

place Oman Vision 2040 There is a clear direction in this regard. The National Circular Economy Framework seeks to shift from a take-make-waste model to one where things remain in use and pass from hand to hand instead of becoming waste prematurely.. The national goal is to divert 80% of waste from landfills by 2040.

Choosing to donate instead of waste is the individual expression of this commitment. When you request to receive your donation through Awnak, a usable item reaches a needy family and stays out of the waste system. Two outcomes from one decision: a family receives what it needs, and Amman takes a step towards its goal.
